Gamma Ray Spectrometers

PEICalib
  • Allows the user to verify the proper operation of; and determine individual detector measurement characteristics  for intelligent gamma ray spectrometers (GRS-16/ GRS-10/ GRS-2)
  • Provides the means for individual detector parameter adjustment and spectrometer calibration
  • Allows testing and evaluation of individual detectors

PEICalib is a convenient application to test and calibrate intelligent gamma spectrometers (GRS-16/ GRS-10/ GRS-2), and to adjust individual detector parameters.

The program recognizes the connected device automatically and retrieves all preset parameters. Supported devices:

  • GRS-10 type spectrometer with 10 detectors maximum
  • GRS-16 type spectrometer with 16 detectors maximum
  • GIS-2 type spectrometer with 2 detectors maximum (portable spectrometer)
  • Directly connected individual detector

The program allows the user to change threshold limits, individual crystal high voltage, and “up-down” orientation for each detector.

An automated calibration process provides complete tunning of the individual detectors as well as entire detector array. This achieves the best metrological results of the spectra delivered by each detector individually. As a result of individual detector processing and the use of a Digital Peak Detector, nonlinearity is reduced.  "Zero base shift" and "dead time" are almost eliminated.

The calibration process is conveniently displayed on the screen and allows the user intervention to repeat observations. This allows for selection of  optimal high voltage values resulting in the most accurate spectra from each detector.
